Shemeister 2/9/26

The weeks fly by out here in Allentown. I missed the Super Bowl but I don't like either of the teams so I guess it's not too big of a deal.

Monday

Had district p day so we played basketball and volleyball at the church with all the other members in the district. I also bought a ton of juice. We also put our friend Jay on date for baptism.

Tuesday

Had zone conference today so our day started at 5:30. Zone conference was really good, we talked about boldness in teaching as well as loving your friends. I also saw Elder Carter but no Elder Swenson. When we got back to Allentown we went to Zein's and she fed us more Syrian food. She gave us mushroom soup and kmbe. I couldn't eat the mushroom soup but the kmbe was actually pretty good. Kmbe is like these little wheat balls with lamb inside.

Wednesday

Had some really good lessons but nothing too interesting.

Thursday

Walked a ton today. The only interesting thing that happened was we had dinner with a member.

Friday

All of our lessons were with members today but they all went pretty well. After dinner I went back to my Lehighton days and cleaned out a hoarder's basement, so much dog poop everywhere.

Saturday

Had a little sushi date with Elder Hart after a lesson but nothing else too interesting happened. 

Sunday

Holy cow I love Sundays. It feels like the whole week is practice but Sunday is game day. Before church you're grinding calls and knocking on your friends doors to make sure they're up. We were blessed with 7 friends at church and the other elders had 5. We were able to put our boy Nat on date after church as well.

Crazy guy of the week

I feel like we didn't find too many crazy people this week which is really surprising in the city. On Tuesday we invited these two ladies who were sitting in their car to church. Turns out they were crack heads. Any way we start talking to them and 20 minutes of teaching goes by and then they start hitting on us. Obviously I did the responsible thing and just pushed it all onto Elder Hart. They would say "You guys are so handsome" and I would just say "aw thanks but Elder Hart here is 6 foot 2 and look at Elder Hart's nice smile, look at those pearly whites blah blah blah." My attempts were successful because before too long they were both just flirting with Elder Hart.
